                   Ridgefield's 18-hole public golf course.

Ridgefield is situated in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and is a picturesque New England community with an abundance of town amenities. In 2009 Connecticut Magazine chose it as the No. 1 place to live in Connecticut for towns with a population of 15,000 to 25,000. Its charming main street, stretching over a mile, features Victorian homes, majestic churches, museums, boutiques and restaurants. The town has gone to great lengths to preserve its natural beauty. It has 5,200 acres of public open spaces, which accounts for 23% of the town’s overall land, and its residents enjoy a number of large parks and lakes.

The Ridgefield school system is consistently ranked among the top in the state and enjoys the fervent support of its residents. The town is also blessed with a number of nationally recognized landmarks, including the Keeler Tavern Museum, which dates back to the revolutionary war, and The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. Other cultural highlights include the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra, the Ridgefield Guild of Artists and the Ridgefield Playhouse. The town’s 18-hole public golf course was designed by George Fazio and Tom Fazio. A landmark fountain at the corner of Main Street and West Lane was designed by the world renowned architect Cass Gilbert back in 1915.
